After studying my BA Communication Science Degree I went straight into marketing positions with different corporates until I found my passion in the hospitality industry. I have been in the hospitality industry for the past 10 years always working in sales and marketing for leading brands, until I opened my own company Iconique Brands. I absolutely love the industry and love what I do.

I have hosted 4 Travelbags lunches for Cresta Hotels and one Travelbags lunch for African Sun Hotels, I have been a member of Travelbags since 2010 and I absolutely love being a part of Travelbags, I thoroughly enjoy the lunches and networking with the guests, I have made many new friends in the industry through Travelbags, plus it always brings such joy to my heart to see how charities benefit from these lunches. I am a true philanthropist and was voted SA Bachelorette in 2013 where I raised R120 000 for CANSA.

My journey with Travelbags started in 1997 when I first became a member and I knew from the “get go” that this was an organisation I would proud to serve on.

In 2001 I was elected onto the committee and have not looked back!

The years have literally flown by and it has been a privilege to have experienced the changes and growth within the club over this time.

I was exposed to a working world as a young girl with entrepreneurial parents. I enjoyed working within hospitality services while I completed various studies in photography, tourism and then later law. Having been one of the founding members of African Chapter has led to various projects in the travel world including wildlife destinations, conservation of heritage, cultural and environmental aspects within the industry and beyond. I am also a member of the Tourism Collective which provides strategic tourism resources to the industry as well as hold a consultancy position with Fair Trade in Tourism.

I completed my Bsc in Information Systems degree in 2003 and hold a National Diploma in Marketing Management. I have been in the Hospitality and Tourism industry for 13 years, starting my career at Sandton Convention Centre, then moving to various units within Tsogo Sun Group in the Sales departments. In 2010 I was head hunted by my current employer African Sun Hotels as Sales Manager and grew to be promoted to senior role with my current capacity of Regional Sales & Reservations Manager, heading the Sales and Central reservations team in SA. Implementing group strategy and driving local and international sales and targets, revenue management, reservations and online channels.

I've got great passion and love for the industry, dealing with people in the industry, business and socially. Travelbags team will most certainly give me the opportunity and assist me in giving back to this industry and positively contributing to various charities.

After studying Tourism at Witwatersrand Technicon I worked at All Travel Services , Kuoni Travel , ISE Ski Club Verbier Switzerland , Holiday Tours, Qantas Airways , Australian Tourist Commission and Tourism Johannesburg.

My journey with Travelbags started in 1986 joined the committe for six years . Went with the committe to Greece to the International World Travel Organization . I had the most wonderful time on the committe. Hard work and fun . I then yearned To start a creative path , working for magazines and opening my Coffee Shop 7 july 2005.I missed Travelbags and therefore wish to contribute to this wonderful organization again as I see great networking luncheons which contribute to the wellbeing of many charities.

Currently managing the marketing for De Hoek Country Hotel in Magaliesburg. Passionate about the industry and marketing this magnificent 5 star property.

After finishing my National Higher Diploma in Hospitality Management in 2005, I have been employed at various 5 star properties enjoying sales and marketing immensely.

In addition I have also recently completed my online digital media and marketing course through UCT and GetSmarter. I am also an avid fan of charity events and a cupcake angel for Kids with Cancer.

Avis National Travel - Key Account Manager

My current position is within the Travel Sales Department as the National Key Accounts Manager responsible for the Travel Consortiums in South Africa.

I have been in the Travel industry for more than 20 years of which 15 of these have been with Avis Rent a Car. Avis has been my business university gaining core competencies to equip me to handle all in my working career.

In addition I have worked for Rennies and CWT as new business Sales and had the opportunity of owning my own company and travelling abroad with the International inbound markets.
